Line Cook
We're looking for an experienced line cook to join the Hugo's Lost Colony kitchen team!
Varied experience preferred, including grill, pantry, and expo. Must be very teachable and eager to learn and operate as a part of a team.

POSITION REQUIREMENTS
- Ability to adjust on the fly and always execute at the highest standards of excellence
- Assist in preparation of all prep and menu items as needed
- Must maintain a professional and welcoming attitude while at work
- Ability to work calmly and effectively under pressure
- Maintain a high level of cleanliness throughout workspace
- Must be able to work flexible shifts and schedules as required, including weekends and some holidays
EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE
- Age: Must be at least 18 years of age based upon state requirements to serve alcohol
- Kitchen Experience: One to two years of experience as a line cook, restaurant cook, or prep cook required, upscale dining experience is preferred
- Minimum Education: High school diploma or GED
- Certificate in Culinary Arts preferred
- Experience with various cooking methods and procedures
- Familiar with industry best practices
ADDITIONAL COMPETENCIES
- Communication: The ability to write and speak effectively, actively listen to others, ask questions to verify understanding, and work collaboratively within a team
- Must be able to communicate effectively with colleagues and guests
- Basic math skill proficiency
- Bilingual preferred
- Professional maturity: The ability to separate emotional feelings from the real issues at hand, meet commitments, keep the promises you make, and accept the responsibility of your actions
PHYSICAL DEMANDS
- Must be able to stand for extended durations (8-12 hour shifts).
- Ability to constantly lift up to 50 pounds without issue.
- Ability to work in an environment that has exposures to cold, heat, and water
- Able to lift, reach, bend and stoop
- Able to work in a standing position for extended periods of time
